Tootsie and Koko have been staying with Uncle Pfffft, during this transition period (not having two BIG dogs around helps us keep the house clean and easier to show/sell). Uncle Pfffft lives on some property just outside of Cedar Fall's, IA - near New Hartford.
Last Sat. night Tootsie walked off the property and hasn't been seen since. To make matters worse, Sunday's F5 tornado struck within a 1/4 mile from the house so the chaos in the area is taxing all community resources.
When Uncle Pffffft called around to file his missing dog report with several appropriate agencies... he provided his home/land-line number. This was before the tornado took out his phone service.
It's been almost a week and while we've not lost TOTAL hope, we are beginning to think we may have seen the last of Tootsie. We have counselors "on site" to help the delinquents cope with this potential loss. Please add the Toots to your thoughts and prayers.
It's all amusing... where friends, family and visitors get up-to-date news, information and comments from Padre, Sidetrack, Beaner, Peanut, Chalupa and Big Dawg. Go F*U*N or go home!

Gray Way to Win
It was every bit as gray and rainy as this photo indicates. In fact, I'd say is was much more rainy than gray. After this 60 minute soaker... and despite the cold temps, Chalupa's team remains smokin' hot with a 6 -1 victory.
Side Track returned from IC last night, and is slated to remain in MonkeyDoo until next Tuesday or so.
Buzz will spend this afternoon packing a U-Haul and taking a load down this weekend. He and Beaner will take some time on Sunday to tour the final "short list" of potential digs. More news to come.

Busy
Posts will be fewer and farther between for a few weeks due to many activities in our household but a quick update for those who follow our exploits.
- SideTrack has started a new job in Iowa City. A move is inevitable but...
- No progress selling the house. Each week brings continued foot traffic, trips to storage and greater optimism that things happen for a reason.
- Buzz is still employed and will remain so for the near future.
- Soccer is in full swing keeping our gas consumption higher than desired, but we are trying to share rides whenever possible.
- The hounds are visiting Uncle Pffft. Word from the doggie spa is that Tootsie escaped and is on the lame somewhere in the fields of dreams. We've received assurances that she will be found and brought to justice. Or she might get mistaken for livestock and enjoy the life of the "Doggies on the Range".
- Uncle Pfffft lives in Iowa and we are pleased to report all of them survived the twisters by a quarter of a mile (or less). We visited ground zero, and it is truly frightening to see the force of Mother nature's wrath.
- Buzz... broke another toe. This time it's his right foot and second from the pinkie... not as painful but broken nonetheless.
That's it for now. Ciao

A No No in Fenway
Jon Lester, with defensive help from his teamates, hurled the first no-hitter of the 2008 baseball season at the expense of the Kansas City Royals. He was two walks away from a perfect game. For those not keeping track... Boston leads the division... and the Yankees are (as they say) in the cellar. Heady days for this Red Sox fan.

Mother's Day '08
Chalupa cooked breakfast for Side Track. Then after a leisurely swim at the 'Y', Side Track got a pedicure and manicure from Peanut, and massage from Beaner. Buzz and Big Dawg, were responsible for staying out of the way. All in all it was a very nice and relaxing day for a person who deserves a day like this more often than once a year.

Twins Steal One From The Sox In the 9th
With two outs in the bottom of the 9th, a runner on third and Boston leading 6-5, Gomez (the Twin's stellar aquisition from the Mets) came to the plate to face Pappelbon, Boston's ace closer. Gomez won this great baseball match-up after battling through a full count to earn a walk to first. A few moments later, after Gomez stole second, with two strikes and a ball, Lamb dropped an easy hit over the third base line driving in both base runnners for a Twins dramatic 7-6 come-from-behind victory.
It was a tough night to be a Boston fan, but a great game if you love the sport of baseball.

Congratulations Cuz!
Congratulations Page!
To all who stumble upon this blog or (God forbid) visit on purpose, please welcome the newest District Judge in Orange County, North Carolina - our cousin, Page Vernon. She's a good person with a good heart and good judgement - her experience and intellegence are extras.
She'll be a terrific, honest and fair judicial advocate for justice... whatever that may happen to be.
