Backyard Shenanigans

(From left) Big Dawg, Alana, Quinn, and The Peanut tackle the hill from this Taylor's back yard to the other Taylor's backyard.

With all due respect to Mr. Frost, these neighbors have no fences, and they seem to get along just fine.

When Zoo's collide

Beaner, Big Dawg, Peanut and the Chalupa pose next to this bronze statue of a Silver Back Ape outside the Primate Center in the St. Louis Zoo.

Big Dawg was pleased to find out he wasn't the only primate who picks his nose... and eats it. Eeeewwwww!

In Our Backyard Today

If you glanced out the window at our feeder, you'd expect to see a few Chickadees, Juncos, Sparrows, and squirrels. This afternoon we saw these gals and another (not pictured). Our dogs were going nuts and I'm afraid our backyard will never be the same. But what a wonderful sight. The kids were delighted as were the parents. And to think, we we'll be visiting the St. Louis Zoo in the next few weeks... who needs Marlin Perkins when we have this in our back yard?

Birthday Peanut

Well, now that she's 11, the world may not be the
same.

One Long, Cold, Frosty Drip

This is one way to see how long and drawn out winter can get. We're expecting 2 - 3 more inches of misery in the next two days. Maybe by next week we'll see temps in the 20's. Weather like that would be a virtual heat wave.

Misplaced Carolina Fan?

It might be a long way from the Piedmont, but this young fan shows his support for the Tar Heels.

More Hardware

Chalupa (second from Rt on lower row) and her teammates collect more hardware (trophies) after winning another basketball tournament. They've won four or five tournaments (I've lost count), and continue their dominance in the 4th grade level.

This is how Side Track and I split up our weekends. One goes with Chalupa to basketball, and the other mans the fort with Peanut, Beaner and Big Dawg.

Yep, It Can Get Colder

Yep -20 degrees! And if you look at the photo below, you'll notice a village of shacks (they look like dots, but take my word for it, they're shacks). Those would be ice fisherman in full force on this rather cool Februrary morning.

It looked like a scene straight from Grumpy Old Men, and NOW I realize what makes them so grumpy.

How Many Degree's Below Zero?

Yep, there is a deficit of 7 degrees which is registered in Buzz Daddy's expression. By tomorrow (02-03-07) this will be near the high temperature FOR THE DAY.
Ironically, a major report from a hugely commissioned global organization came forth today to confirm that Global warming (huh?) is upon us. Despite the aberration we're currently experiencing... I believe it!
