X-Country Season Has Ended

The Northwest Junior High Cross Country Season ended with the State Meet yesterday.  We had lack-luster team performance, but there were a few individual hight-lights that will provide solid momentum into the spring Track Season... and a stronger return next Fall.
Thanks Vikings for a great season!!!

Night o' Chaos I

Is THAT EDDIE MUNSTER???!!

Night of Chaos II

These are pics from the end-of-the-year X-country party.  The State Meet is later today, when Buzz Dad misses the Wisco game in favor of watching harriers take it to the fields.

Night o' Chaos III

ACACIAN's get back together at Joe's Place.  Bizzarlson, Doc and Beast enjoy a laugh.  Next we have the Dancing Bear going over vitals with the Big Guy.  Great to see one and all.
Not pictured are Nachos, EB, Nels, AT and The Small One.  All in prep for the Wisco. Game! Go Hawks!!!

Kids v. 'rents

If you look to the very far left, you'll see Side Track.
Then, if you look to the lower right hand corner, that's a tiny corner of Big Dawg's mop of blond hair.

Kids beat the parents in the last practice of the Fall Season.  Big Dawg finishes this weekend.  Chalupa is in Illinois for a soccer tournament.  Peanut is in Cedar Rapids.  Coach Buzz Daddy is in Des Moines for the State X-Country meet.  Side Track and the hounds will hold down the hacienda with a crew of Mentings in for the Badger/Hawkeye Game.  Nuts.

Futbal? or Football

Here's a kid wearing a soccer uniform to include cleats and shin guards, but he's tossing a football.  The day and age of multi sport athlete is gone.  The exception to restrictive opportunities for kids exists for those athletes in small towns where the athlete can (and does) participate in multiple sports.  If Chalupa gets the chance to play more than 3 sports... I'll be surprised.

Le Fire Pit

Lovin' the fire pit.  Brings out the wild in me.  And... like... yeah.

Anything wild can happen around the fire pit.

Safety Patrol

Chalupa and Big Dawg were off to school.  You'll notice the safety patrol belt around Chalupa.  She was a kiddy kop (Peace Maker) in Monkey Doo.  Now... safety patrol.  Yours truly was a safety patrol Captain when I was in sixth grade at Stinkin' Lincoln.   I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, huh?
